EPR for Plastic Packaging



  • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) holds producers responsible for the collection and recycling.

  • Union Environment Minister Bhupen Yadav  announced the guidelines for the new Plastic waste Management(Amendment) Rules on 17,February  2022.

  • The Union ministry of environment, forest and climate change (MoEFCC) has notified guidelines on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for plastic packaging.

  • This will help in the formalization and growth of the Plastic Waste Management Industry.
