FAME II



The Committee on Estimates (2022-23) for evaluation of electric vehicle policy has recently suggested an extension of the FAME II scheme.


It was launched in 2015, a part of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan.


The concerned departments include: Department of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.


The scheme aims to promote the manufacturing of electric and hybrid vehicle technology and encourage electric vehicles by providing subsidies.


The phase II of the scheme started in April 2019, and will be completed by 31st March 2022
