Lithium Exploration



Recently there has been commercial exploration of  Lithium in Jammu and Kashmir.


Now, Karnataka is looking up for similar possibilities  regarding the lithium reserves in Mandya district.


Lithium belongs to the Alkali family and is the lightest metal on earth.


Lithium is used in the body of planes and fighter jets.


It is also used in mobile phone and smartwatch batteries.


Its medicinal use includes - treatment for bipolar disorder and as antidepressant.
