Pakistan's New Cybercrime Ordinance



  • Pakistan Government has passed a Cybercrime ordinance.

  • It states the punishment up to five years in jail for defamation of government officials, the military and judiciary on social media.

  • The people arrested under the law will not have the right to file a bail.

  • The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan(HRCP) had stated the law to be undemocratic.
